Blue Whales at Redondo Beach
I took these photos from the wale watching vessel The Voyager on September 13, 2010 while this rare phenomenon was at it's peak. The weather was beautiful and the whales were all around us in substantial numbers, feeding on clouds of krill that filled the surface of the sea. Small squid the size of a hand were also feeding on the krill in large numbers, and a shark was seen lolling around.
